July 25, 2018 – Janesville, WI – SHINE Medical Technologies, Inc. (SHINE), a Wisconsin-based company dedicated to being the world leader in the safe, clean, affordable production of medical isotopes, announced today that it has selected eight individuals for its summer internship program. These interns will work alongside SHINE employees as they bring much-needed medical isotope production back to the US.

The 2018 SHINE interns are recent graduates of universities around the country, including: University of Minnesota-Duluth, Kansas State University, Missouri University of Science and Technology, University of Texas, as well as University of Wisconsin-Madison and Platteville.  This internship provides a unique opportunity for them to gain valuable industry experience and insight working with a development-stage nuclear technology company at SHINE’s headquarters in Janesville, Wisconsin. Each intern will use their strengths and education to work within various departments at SHINE including chemical, nuclear, mechanical, and electrical engineering; finance; and procurement.

Last summer, SHINE selected eight interns to join the team and by the end of 2017, had hired four of them as full-time employees. SHINE is dedicated to encouraging innovation and training the next generation and is proud to employ interns every summer to provide hands-on learning experiences and opportunities to explore their interests and develop professional skills and competencies.

The interns selected for 2018 are: Riley McSweeny (Chemical Engineering), Angela Campbell (Nuclear Engineering), Jenna Slocum (Nuclear Engineering), Charlie Shackett (Procurement), Kevin Yu (Mechanical Engineering), Stephen McManus (Electrical Engineering), Erik Kernozek (Nuclear Engineering), and Ryan Berthiaume (Procurement).
